		<title>MA-project: taking pArt</title>

		<description>During spring 2011, I finished my MA exam at Bergen National Academy of the Arts. The project is about method, design thinking, co-design and identity. The title is taking pArt, the theme is identity through public art, and in short I worked methodically with 4 x 12 teenagers from a local high school. We made four individual projects in form of public art – with and for the students, and at their school. The flip side of this project is the work on methods which is the spine of the project; a set of methods put into a book, that could be used to approach any kinds of users. It's all about getting under their skin, and understanding the bigger situation.

This project had a duration og 1 years, and even though it's finished, it is still alive at Breimyra Ungdomsskole. The process was extensive, and I am currently working on documenting the lot to best communicate with an open audience at Beyond Risør 2012, where I am exhibiting my project this June.

I will present bits and pieces here before the final documentation and web site is finished. I also have a master thesis along with the visuals which I am happy to share. 		<description>«Sunniva Helland er designstudent og holder på med master i visuell kommunikasjon i Bergen. Under masterstudiet jobber hun med en mellomting mellom design og kunst, og fascineres av mennesker og det de sier. Man kan kalle det grafisk design møter folk, og dette er også et stikkord i utstillingen Bad Episode.

I Bad Episode tar hun for seg reaksjonene til spesielt dramatiske episoder fra kjente TV-serier. Hvordan reagerer folk på nettet etter en virkelig dårlig episode? Det er spesielt i kommentarfeltene på YouTube det skjer, og det er nettopp dette Bad Episode handler om.

		<description>This is from a course in illustration, where I illustrated the first original text made about Pippi (ur-Pippi). My interpretation was a more fragile Pippi, as if she was the lonely outsider. The illustrations were not exhibited with text, so it was more about picking scenes and being narrative by drawing.

		<description>This signage is for Kvarteret, the recently rebuilt student house in Bergen. The sign is a map over the building that I am currently working on. The brief was to interpret architectural drawings to a map understandable for the audience. The sign is going to cover a wall by the entrance and is meant to be combined with stickers to add info, changes and possibly penguin humor.

		<description>This folder is a part of a school project with Node. A typography course based on a film, and in my case Reprise. This is a publication connected to the movie, and the folder is meant to communicate layers of the film. I played with the plot as a theme, where the main character is trying to repeat history but fails. The folder is a matter of pulling text. 		<description>This is some documentation of my BA project. I made a visual identity for a book store, that was supposed to have a strict appearance, and using humor in text to approach users. The name was Formats since part of the strategy was to combine a flagship book store with social situations inviting people to spend time finding books, therefore, adding formats.  So every element of the visual identity adds up in A-formats in grid. This was a conceptual project as well as a visual one, and the strategy is a whole other side to the project. I'd be happy to share the written part, just let me know.

The first group of slides are showing the exhibition. The slides on the process shows the logo in development, implementations and sketches of environment.
